Who is a Builder?
A Builder does more than explain what they believe is right; they take responsibility where they are.
They notice a need, listen to the people affected, recognise the limits of their own knowledge and work with people who bring other forms of competence. They do not treat the result as perfect or permanent; they keep it open to feedback, review, correction and care.
The future is not only the responsibility of those who develop technology. It also belongs to those who can put knowledge, people, vocation, home, nature and tools in their right place.
A stance and a way of working together
Builder is a personal responsibility; the Builders programme connects that responsibility with a team.
Builder is not tied to one age, profession or team. The Builders programme helps people who carry this stance find one another, take small but real responsibilities for a shared concern, and keep improving and sustaining their work together.

Masters and journeymen support young Builders; children and young people join shared work through age-appropriate yamak and apprenticeship paths.

Being able to make something does not mean it should be made in every circumstance.
A Builder considers what is being made, why, for whom, who may be affected and where the work must stop.
Keep judgement with people
Uses tools for support without handing intention, choice or responsibility for the outcome to a machine.
Put each thing in its right place
Does not reduce people, knowledge, tools and fields to one another; approaches each with the EDEB required by its place.
Respect limits and nature
Recognises the limits of intervention and the nature of a person, living being or field that cannot be reduced to data.
Anticipate harm
Builds living safeguards around privacy, children, data, security, misuse and representation.
Do not treat the work as absolute
Does not present a human production as the whole truth; keeps its sources, limits and correction path visible.
Responsibilities a Builder carries
Every project is different, but a Builder keeps people, competence, limits and consequences in view.
These are not mandatory project stages. The concern, the field and the people involved determine which responsibility is needed and when.
01 Listen to people and the real need first
Before leading with a tool, begin with the experience and voice of the people living with the concern.
02 Know your limits and the competence required
Be clear about what you can carry, which master or profession is needed and which decisions are not yours to make.
03 Take a small but real responsibility
Move beyond watching and take a part you can complete in research, storytelling, design, fieldwork, testing, building or maintenance.
04 Learn together and remain open to correction
Instead of defending your first idea, be willing to change in response to what you see, hear and test—and to stop when necessary.
05 Show the source, limits and responsible people
Make visible who built the representation, from which information and conditions, what it cannot do and how errors can be reported.
06 Share responsibility for outcomes and care
Whether the work is published or remains limited, follow who is affected and do not leave maintenance, withdrawal or continuity without an owner.

Safety and responsibility
Before work begins, the programme explains the voice of affected people, age-appropriate participation of children and young people, professional competence, privacy, decision-making authority, error reporting and maintenance responsibility.

Every BAI Builder is a Builder, but not every Builder works only in digital fields.
BAI Builders make knowledge and tools for the new internet. The general Builder role carries the same responsibility into home, school, vocation, institutions, nature and fieldwork.
