A sound work is not complete if it reaches people in a confusing or careless form.
IHSAN review does not ask only whether a text, lesson, piece of software, game, or service works. Together with the people it is for, it asks whether the work is accurate and understandable, whether it exhausts or misleads people, whether it answers a real need, and whether it carries its amanah well. This work does not issue fiqh judgments.
What is it?
IHSAN Review Circle
The circle is not intended as a final check that merely searches for faults. Together with the producer, relevant practitioners, and people who will use the work, it helps the language, use, benefit, and quality of representation mature.
Preparation status
This page does not announce an active review team or an open assessment service.
Work cannot begin until the participants, method of testing with people affected, child and privacy safeguards, decision record, and path of renewed review have been verified. This page describes the intended task and limits of IHSAN review.
IHSAN questions
A work matures through five connected questions.
Is it accurate and sourced?
Are its claims, sources, context, uncertainty, and limits of representation clear?
Is it understandable?
Can people understand what to do, what they may rely on, and where to ask for help?
Does it respect the human being?
Do its language, interface, or service diminish, manipulate, or create dependence?
Is it genuinely useful?
Beyond an impressive promise, does it answer a real need and work in practice?
Can it be maintained?
Is there a continuing path for error reports, updates, accessibility, and the needs of new users?
IHSAN review is incomplete without the people it serves
Work for children should be tested with children and households; work for practitioners with practitioners; work for a community with real users.
A producer becomes familiar with their own work and may no longer see some of its difficulties. Where appropriate, the circle conducts safeguarded trials with children, families, educators, disabled users, practitioners, or people in the field, turning observations into clear points for correction rather than personal taste.
The result of review
The result is not simply ‘good’ or ‘bad’; it is a clear path for the work to mature.
The circle may explain the grounds for acceptance, renewed review after specific corrections, a controlled trial, or postponement until the representation is redesigned. Fiqh and safety decisions belong to the relevant boards.
